So last night I rebuilt my long boffer sword. The balance is alright, it's still unwieldy though like most longs. Bordering 47 inches it's just about max length. Ah well not like I can't use it in the ditch or in the class battlegames. Despite my dislike for the style, I feel forced to begin using it again. The current meta of Caradoc has everyone using longs with the exception of Julian, myself, and anyone we outfit with weapons. Really, this is just for long range stabbing heh heh heh.

Today marks day 2 in my work week, last full work week til after the new years. NYE will hopefully be amazing in toronto, some amtgard, some raving, some chillin. Sure to be plenty of the drinkin.

Speaking of work, probably should get going to that.

I don't do anything but work.

Take that statement as you will, I mean it simply as a statement of fact. Last week I worked 50 hours. This upcoming week I am expected to brave a blizzard to come in on a sunday, and then proceed to work 64 hours through the course of the week. So is it any surprise that when I have a day off, I find some sort of outlet to let loose?

I started playing boffer sword games that are akin to larps.

Another statement of fact, I have taken liking to Amtgard in particular. Whether it's the fast paced combat requiring lightning quick reflexes as shots are measured in tenths of a second, or that all my friends play I'm not entirely sure. However being willing to give anything several chances I went out to Buffalo today to play with the Dagohrir group there.

I am less than impressed with the Dag fighters.

In amtgard, I am classified as nothing more than chaff. Yes on the local level (Being my park of 35 or so) I am the #2 dog. I am perpetually biting at the heels of the Alpha who happens to be belted under a sword knight.

I go to Dag and I whored every last one of them out.

Yet another statement of fact. My weapons were loaner gear that were far too top heavy for my liking, yet I was still able to through all my shoulder wraps and dark side shots. For those who may be reading and going "Well, what the fuck dude. I have no clue what those are" a wrap is basically the motion your wrist makes when you swing a baseball bat. Now remove the arm swinging and only use one hand, and there you go you have a wrap. Darkside is the sword holding side of someone who is using a shield.

These shots require a degree of finesse, and while I wasn't exactly as precise as I am with my amtgard sticks (which isn't that precise) I was still able to destroy ever person on that field.

So to sum up, in amtgard I am on the high end of the chaff, in dag I am a warlord.
